KONE Concept 16
The concept 16 was KONE’s step towards IoT where they wanted to provide a personalized and connected experience to their customers.
I created visualizations and concept ideas for the demo that was presented to the stakeholders and upper management to make the project a reality.
Magic mirror - Weather updates
The idea in magic mirror was to have a live display to show weather forecast and other contextual infomation to the customers. I created the visualizations using the KONE look and feel and added micro animations to bring the display to life. These animations were created using Adobe Flash.
Concept 16 elevator screens
For C16 there was a live demo elevator at KONE premises. A new information display and a call operating display was installed to the elevator specifically for the C16. The idea was to have a fun and playful information to display on these panels instead of the traditional button to call an elevator. The demo concept was designed to showcase the custom interfaces and design flexibility of the new panels.
I created ideas for floor transitions in the demo elevator. Since there were only 2 floors, I had the freedom to keep these animations and designs simple and enagaing. Below is a set of concepts for the elevator floor transition screens.

Below is an example of next generation elevator displays where KONE for the first time moved away from dot matrix displays inside the elevator. Part of my work was experimenting with different kinds of floor displays on the new panels. On the right you can see a prototype of a digital version of a classic mechanical floor dial.
KONECare online visualizations
KONEcare online is a modernization application for monitoring elevator status and remote reporting capabilities. The tool mainly helps facility and building managers to check the condition of equipment in the building, access reports and monitor future needs, both user and parts related. This was a concept design for demo purposes. I designed a click-through mockup tablet app using HTML, CSS and JS. The prototype was used for pitching the service design idea to higher management at KONE.
